A Day of Fun for the Whole Family

Enjoy a variety of attractions, including:

  • Displays of diggers, dumper trucks, emergency vehicles, and antique carriages
  • Nature walks through the beautiful gardens
  • Live music performances, including The Clams, women’s sea shanty group from Newquay, Soloists, Esther Baker and Milly Rose
  • Food and drinks from the café, bar, and BBQ

Supporting Prostate Cancer Awareness

This event is organised by Dave Pascoe, specialist paramedic and prostate cancer patient, to raise awareness about prostate cancer—the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK—and to support local cancer services.

All funds raised will benefit:

  • The Sunrise Centre Fund of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity
  • The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health

Mr Pascoe explained his personal inspiration behind the day,

“I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2024, so I want to raise awareness of this disease and raise funds for local cancer charities The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health and The Sunrise Centre Fund of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity.

Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, so I hope this awareness day will save lives.

Thanks to fantastic local cancer services, despite my prostate cancer diagnosis I’ve been given a curative prognosis within the next three years. I feel compelled to give something back.

Through this family day, I’m aiming to raise funds to support the people and services that helped me. I’ll also be raising awareness, making sure that as many men as possible know the importance of getting tested. I’m proof that a simple blood test really could save your life.”
