Donations to The Cove Fund are for the benefit of patients, volunteers and staff who visit and work in The Cove.
We can purchase additional items to make patient and visitors more comfortable:
- Cushions because patients wanted some additional support and comfort whilst in the waiting area and during appointments.
- A highchair because parents of young children whose mums or dads are having treatment bring the children into the Centre to be away from the business of a clinical setting.
- Treadmill and exercise equipment for the new Physiotherapy Service to help keep patients active and build their strength and fitness both during and after treatment.
- Electric fans to ensure the comfort of patients during hot weather or for those who may be experiencing hot flushes due to hormonal treatments.
The fund also enables us to provide additional services and to enhance existing services e.g. blenders for the Dietitians to demonstrate options for patients struggling to get sufficient nutritional input.
In addition, it enables staff and volunteers to attend specialist courses to keep up to date with current practice and extend their existing skills.
